Literary Gathering
by Emperor Huizong of Song Dynesty
This painting depicts a group of scholars in a garden by a pond enjoying a Jiu Xi (the Chinese feast). A large lacquered table has been placed under a tree with all kinds of tableware and food on it. In the foreground is a group of young attendants around a small table preparing drinks. The figures are all spirited and elegant with clear expressions, while the objects and garden motifs are painstakingly rendered.
Chef Samuel got inspired by this painting « Literary Gathering » and wants to recreate the Jiu Xi scenes of that beautiful epoque, which has become the main concept of SENsation as well as the presentation way of the food served here.

Five Drunken Princes Returning on Horseback
by Ren Renfa of Yuan Dynasty
The painting depicts five drunken princes of the Tang dynasty taking a joyous horse ride accompanied by four attendants. Dynamic in composition, it vividly portrays the strong sibling bond between the princes. One of five princes, the one with a red robe on the right side of the scroll, is Li Longji, who later became the Emperor Xuanzong (685-762).
It’s in the past, where « no drinking and driving » warning didn’t exist, so they could get drunk and ride their horses back home.
However, we highly recommend you don’t do so.
Please travel home safely.
